Short Biography

I am a Chinese-American mathematician and currently serve as the director of the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center at Tsinghua University. I am also a professor emeritus at Harvard University. Until 2022, I held the position of William Caspar Graustein Professor of Mathematics at Harvard, after which I transitioned to Tsinghua University to focus on my work there.

Research Interest

My research focuses on differential geometry, mathematical physics, and partial differential equations. I’ve worked on the Calabi conjecture, minimal surfaces, and their links to general relativity and string theory, exploring connections between math and physics.
